I've recently graduated high school and one of my favorite people, an English teacher in the school, gave me this token. Her and I became close through Key Club, a community service group in the school. She's one of the advisors and she's been an amazing role model to me over the past few years. Within this time, I've dedicated hundreds of hours of my life to help others and benefit our community. Ive put in a lot of hard work, but it was very worth it to get to know someone as awesome as her.

This token made its way back to me after a cancer awareness event that I helped plan. I was the captain of my school's team, and we raised over $2000 in memory of a coworker who lost his battle to cancer last year. This year's event was far more daunting than the events we held in the past, and my coworker knew how exhausted I was at the end of it all!

This token was given to me after a charity event I had spent months preparing for. The event is called Empty Bowls and I taught my students how to throw ceramic bowls on the pottery wheels. After 6 months of preparation, we held the event and raised over $4,000.00 for three local charities that combat hunger and homelessness. My friend knew how much time I spent preparing and gave me this thoughtful token in a beautifully written card.
